Biography

Herman's art reflects an ongoing dialogue between mind and heart, where each piece serves as a cathartic exploration of emotions, concepts, and materials.

With over twenty-five years of experience in the fashion design industry in Los Angeles and a formal background in clothing and textiles from Cal State Long Beach, she draws on a wide range of mediums to bring emotional clarity to the essence of objects. Her approach is hands-on and intuitive, starting with a concept or image but allowing the work to evolve organically, often ending in unexpected places.

Artist Statement

Her current body of work marks a shift from abstract expressionism, as she continues to explore the synthesis of form and meaning. Each piece reflects a balance between the tangible and the intangible, embodying both materiality and ethereal aspects. Herman's practice investigates the intersection of the bodily and the spiritual. The works evolve through epoch moments, birth, transformation, death, engaging with the human experience as both personal and universal.

In Herman's art, there is a space where spirit finds recognition, where the mind perceives and the heart responds, creating a synthesis of form, thought, and being.
